Personality

Seto Mirukumo is a Second Year student at U.A. She is a very brash girl, who deals in a level of pessimistic negativity that causes distress in her classmates. Her blunt honesty forces her to call out any situation for what it is. Though she doesn't actively seek to annoy or upset people, she cannot help to find herself in many situations where someone has been offended, making it extremely difficult for her to make friends. Despite her cynical attitude, she will go out of her way to make sure her classmates have been recognized for their efforts. This trait allows her to try and find variables in their abilities they may not have considered before.

While stubborn and unyielding, she is still impressionable. Seto welcomes debate, and is more than capable to discuss flaws in a strategy or a mindset. She is willing to put her own body on the line in order to get something done, especially in attempts to not let anyone down. When talked to, she will add her cynical side to the conversation, but otherwise stays a loner. She is not devoid of humor however, and this side of her often shows when exaggerating a person’s feats or completely dismissing a positive situation. The girl isn't above taking the lowest possible opportunity for a joke, even if it is at someone else's expense. Even though this negativity does not seem to be in an attempt to purposefully weigh anyone down, and her overall purpose for attending U.A is to prove herself by exuding positivity. She is shown to be very cunning, although she attributes this to being "street smart".

Underneath a passionate exterior, she is actually very insecure about herself. She doesn't view herself with any denotable worth, and from this insecurity - prefers to rebound any complement to the person giving it rather than accepting it for herself. Upon having a hemorrhagic stroke, she lost a majority of hearing in her right ear. Alongside diagnosed depression, Seto Mirukumo would eventually drop out of U.A in her third year.

Likes: video games, milk, expensive sneakers, quirks

Dislikes: pop quizzes, cooking, rainclouds, her eyes

Quirk and Abilities

   Quirk: Re-Motion

DescriptionBy snapping her fingers, Seto’s quirk allows her to instantly reverse the momentum of any mass within a five feet radius. Essentially, the quirk works in applying an inverted effect to trajectory. For example, a flying object moving 5 mph towards Seto will move 5 mph away from Seto when she snaps. As long as the mass within range is physical, her quirk has no limitations on weight, speed, or size of what she is rebounding. However, if the force has extra mass that exists out of the five foot radius when she snaps, it will carry the momentum shift along with what was in the radius. It requires a very delicate timing that, before she was even in U.A, she had near-perfected. The most major drawback her quirk has is the frequency of use. Since she is essentially rewriting the physics of a small zone around her in less than a split second, this causes extreme strain when overused.

       + Advantages:

☁ If timed correctly, nearly any force or projectile can be defended against
☁ Attacks can be sent right back at the attacker
       ☁ Instantaneous

       - Disadvantages:

☁ The quirk has to have intervals between use, as using it will cause headaches or worse if pushed beyond
☁ Due to the fact that the quirk only affects mass in a five feet radius, this forces her to be close to the target
☁ The battle's pace is dictated by the opponent
☁ Re-Motion does not discriminate. It will reverse her momentum as well as any allies’ momentum

   Super Moves:

☁ Sub-Motion: Spurred into creating a new technique in her first year, Seto managed to innovate this ability. Firmly pressing her middle fingers on both her palms mid-snap without releasing, allows her to negate all momentum - period. This effectively works as a perfect freezing ability. Unfortunately, once the ability is triggered, Seto cannot move her fingers and cannot stop herself from using the ability. Since this ability is just her quirk being activated twenty+ times per second, it immediately strains her. The loop of activation will only close when Seto's brain "shuts off" from the resulting brain hemorrhage. The first (and sole) attempt has resulted in permanent hearing loss, which could've easily been worse, and it very quickly became apparent that Seto is now terrified of using this ability and attempting to innovate with her quirk ever again.

Relationships

    Family:

☁ Takeda Mirukumo (father - Emotionally Abusive): A mellow businessman who was formerly blessed with inheriting his family’s corporation. However, after having a love child with a foreign exchange student, he and Seto are seen as disgraces to the family. The relationship is one-sided, as Seto very much craves a relationship, but Takeda refuses to return it, seeing her as nothing but burdening and just an obligation to raise. Takeda even openly expresses disliking Seto’s appearance, which is all taken from her mother, as it further separates him from his family. When asked, he admitted that they both would have been better off if Seto never existed.

☁ Unnamed Foreigner (mother - Neutral): Due to being deported at a young age and never returning, Seto does not spend much time thinking about her mother, other than the fact that she figures that they must share the same quirk. Since Seto’s mother was ejected from Japan, Takeda Mirukumo considers himself stuck with a child, deprived of a life he worked towards achieving.

    Canon Characters:

☁ Nezu ("Overseer Mouse" | acquaintance - Mutual Respect/Friendly Relationship): Even though they only met once, their brief exchange made a world of difference for Seto. They simply met at a train station, both being late for their respective departures. It being a rainy day, Nezu offered his rather small umbrella to Seto. Despite refusing, he insists, and she appreciates the sentiment under a tiny cover from the rain. After noting how much she hates the clouds and their rain, he states that he prefers to see the “silver lining” in it, as without the weather they would have never met. He then conveys the thought that she should start thinking the same way. Later, she learns he is the principal of U.A, right after her first day in said High School.

☁ Best Jeanist (never met - Idolizes): Ever though she's never had the chance to meet him, she idolizes him as a Pro Hero and has quite a crush on him. As she watched the news involving All-Might's fight with All For One on her tablet outside her apartment staircase, she screamed in utter horror as Best Jeanist was critically wounded by All For One.

☁ Hitoshi Shinso (acquaintance - Mutual Respect): Before the Sports Festival, Shinso actively seeked out Mirukumo for her advice. Since Seto is the only member of Class 1-C to ever be drafted up to the Hero Course for her performance in a Sports Festival, Shinso would often get pointers from his Second Year senior. Although Seto does help to insure that Shinso stays strong, she also states that he is "strong enough" without her and his passion to overcome his obstacles is what will truly make him the standout at the Sports Festival. For their last meeting before the Festival, Seto says Shinso has already beaten her by common sense alone. Shinso implies he is purposefully making sure that he does not make the same mistake she did by overexposing her quirk to her opponents in the Sports Festival.

    Original Characters:

☁ Koka Katachi ("Little Miss Dominess" rival - Competitive/Sour Relationship): For her first Sports Festival, Seto surprised herself by making it to the first round of matches in the bracket, getting past the other obstacles that the event had to offer. She was the only student of 1-C to make it. She eventually found herself going against the daughter of the Pro Hero 'Dominess', Koka Katachi. They both competed in a foam sword fight, where the key to victory was striking three times or falling off the wooden planks into the water. Then proceeded "the worst Sports Festival match in the history of UA" where Katachi's effective use of her 'Domino' quirk coaxed a cat-and-mouse game with Seto that nearly forced a disqualification due to time. Katachi referred to Seto as a "disrespectful exploiter", and this was only confirmed when Seto used the time-out on the clock to get ahead of Katachi and win the match much to the crowd's dismay. To make matters worse for Katachi, how Seto handled herself during the Festival was reviewed and she was eventually transferred to (that year's) Class 1-B.

☁ Rouge Gold (enemy - Vengeful Villain): Suru Kanbara confirmed a series of tied events with the agency that they were learning at. Seto's investigation into this was cut short before the two were framed for a crime they didn't commit. The agency's head, Rouge Gold, was linked to creating crimes that he would then use his agency to stop. Upon confronting Rouge Gold, the two managed to survive the attacks, and Kanbara got close enough to convince him to stand down with their quirk. After the authorities arrived, Kanbara's direct contact was broken, freeing Rouge Gold from their mind control. Seto stopped Rouge Gold, nearly killing herself along with him due to using her new 'Sub-Motion' ability. Upon being sent to prison, Rouge Gold claimed that the first thing he would do when he got the chance was destroy both Seto and Kanbara - which was then immediately dismissed by Aizawa who claimed he would never dare to harm another student if he was still alive.

☁ Watchman (enemy - Villain): During the internship she had with Yoroi Musha in her third year, she was involved in a situation which saw the hero critically injured. Amongst the destruction was the villainous Watchman, who after attacking, truly served as a threat to Seto. After his escape, she couldn't help but feel she would see him again.

☁ Yume Niseko (friend - Tutoree): In her second year, Seto happened upon Yume Niseko, a quirkless student who had requested tutoring from a second year. Setting off on a first impression of breaking her phone, Seto's relationship with the first year ranged from indifference to a spastic need to prove herself as a more positive influence no matter the situation. Even though they didn't see each other as much, considering their age-difference sends them to different parts of U.A for classes, Seto indeed considered Yume Niseko a friend. She never could feel all too comfortable around her, and was convinced Niseko will stop making an effort to hang out with her eventually.
After Niseko's sudden disappearance into her second year, Seto took a month out of her third year at U.A to attempt to find her friend and bring her back. When the news media declared the young student gone, Seto fell into an even deeper depression for her failure. The eventual descent drove Seto to leave U.A.

Trivia

☁ Seto suffers from Hyper-photophobia, hence the sunglasses, and cannot comfortably see unless it is very dark - forcing her to wear the glasses pretty much all the         time. This is the only notable biological trait she shares with her father.

☁ Her celebrity crush is the 4th highest ranked Pro Hero, Best Jeanist. She keeps a plush doll of him on her person at nearly all times.

☁ She forced herself to have a catchphrase. As a result, she spouts "stay positive" - ("stayu poseetive" in Japanese) - as both a reminder to herself and a declaration        to others.

☁ One of her hobbies is going to a local arcade and playing the PRO-HERO: ONE'S JUSTICE fighting game. Her main is Best Jeanist, which she used to win a national         tournament two years prior, despite being low-tier.

☁ Re-Motion originally wasn't linked to her snapping her fingers to trigger. When the quirk revealed itself once she was of age, it nearly killed both her and her father by causing a car accident. Seto had to undergo a special type of therapy known as "Psychic Quirk Alignment" where specialists would use a mixture of hypnotic and motor skill training in order for her to safely pair the activation of her quirk with the sensation of snapping her fingers.

☁ Takeda Mirukumo's quirk is called "Cross Quietly". The soles of his feet are sound absorbent, allowing him to walk without creating any form of noise. From this,             Seto assumes her mother's quirk must be the same as hers since she didn't inherit her father's.

☁ Her theme is A Little More by Machine Gun Kelly.
